About Múlafossur

An iconic waterfall that plunges directly from a cliff edge into the Atlantic Ocean. One of the most photographed spots in the Faroes.

Múlafossur faces the open Atlantic, making it one of the most wind-exposed spots in the Faroes. Strong westerly winds can blow the waterfall spray upward — dramatic for photos but dangerous near the cliff edge. Overcast days actually produce the best photography conditions, avoiding harsh shadows on the falls.

Short walk from the village of Gásadalur. The path can be slippery in wet weather.
